Analyst in middle-office (Controlling of Investment Funds)

Description

Focus of work: wide spectrum of “steep learning curve” tasks connected with analysis of strategically managed sophisticated investment portfolio, preparation of materials and regular internal reporting

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and analysis of the major global economy indicators (macro analysis), capital markets and single asset classes
  • Analysis of investment proposals for an Investment Committee, crafting and preparing materials, presentations, notes
  • Design optimization and preparation of weekly/monthly reports
  • Collection and analysis of monthly reports on current investment portfolio constituents from counterparties and investment managers
  • Reconciliation of performance numbers with investment fund managers, Treasury and back-office in due course preparation of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Communication with consultants, bankers and investment fund managers (mostly in English)

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Higher with focus on Economics or/and Science
  • GPA of 4.5 or higher
  • Globally recognized designation (CFA, CIPM, CAIA and etc.) is a big plus

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability  to perform difficult calculations, good knowledge of Math
  • High literacy in MS Excel, experienced Bloomberg user
  • Different financial instruments, their risks and advantages
  • Core statistical metrics used in performance evaluation of investment strategies
  • Ability to analyze management and financial reports
  • Good English (both oral and written)
  • Ability or willingness to use Python is a plus

 

Working Experience:

  • Previous analytical experience with investment funds, family offices, financial institutions
  • Good understanding of fixed income, equities and hedge funds
  • Experience in departments overseeing and analyzing Capital Markets is a plus
