Buy side investment analyst (Alternative Investments)

Wanted: positive, open-minded, diligent and communicative self-starter

Position: temporary position for the period of maternity leave of current employee

Focus of work: deep dive analysis of and reporting on investments in alternative and traditional asset classes (private equity & venture capital funds, real estate and hedge funds, standalone assets)

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Performing analysis of current and potential investments into private equity & venture capital funds with different levels of drill-down
  • Analyzing and taking part in drafting commercial terms in legal documentation (LPA, PPM, SHA and etc.), critically challenging and helping in composing term sheets
  • Preparing presentations, notes and reports, including the ones to top-management and owner
  • Analyzing financials and management reports of investment funds, standalone assets (includes models prepared by 3rd parties)
  • Evaluating ad-hoc potential allocations to investment ideas, providing opinions

 

Education:

  • Higher with focus on Economics or/and Science
  • GPA of 4.5 or higher
  • Master Degree and globally recognized designation (CFA, CIPM, CAIA and etc.) is a plus

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • English at the level enough for fast reading and understanding specific business language
  • Common investment funds’ structures, principles of work and interests alignment
  • Main strategies of alternatives investments (private equity, real estate, hedge funds)
  • Core metrics used in evaluation of investment funds
  • Ability to analyze management and financial reports of investment funds and single companies
  • High literacy in MS Excel, well-structured approach to presenting information
  • Knowledge in newest technologies (block chain, decentralized finance and similar) are a plus

 

Working Experience:

  • Previous experience with responsibility for particular area of work and focus on results
  • Confirmed analytical background in private investments
  • Basic legal knowledge of deal structuring process and term sheet preparation
  • Background in M&A analysis, transaction services, investment banking or private capital funds
  • Experience in departments overseeing and analyzing portfolio of private capital funds is a plus
