Working as an integral part of the team, the intern will be responsible for a range of GIS development tasks (in ArcGIS with VB.NET using ArcObjects and MapInfo using MapBasic), mainly on live products.

Hours: 40 hours per week, for 12 weeks. Interviews will take place in April, with the placement to cover June, July, August (dates can be adjusted to suit the academic timetable).The GIS Team is responsible for supporting the development of the Group s suite of spatial products and services. The team assists with the spatial data entry, data storage, and cartography requirements of the Group. One of the main roles of the team is to support the development of PetroView : a spatial database and application extension for both the MapInfo Professional and ArcGIS platforms.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated intern to join this team. Products development is managed from London, but several GIS developers are permanently based in Moscow. Working as an integral part of the team, the intern will be responsible for a range of GIS development tasks (in ArcGIS with VB.NET using ArcObjects and MapInfo using MapBasic), mainly on live products. There is potential to widen the scope of the role to include some web-related and installer development. The intern will participate in our implementation of the Agile methodology where development is organised into sprints with regular releases of each application. Requirements: Working towards a degree (ideally a final year student) in Geographic Information Systems (or a GIS-related degree), Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or MapInfo, programming.
