Internship in Quantitative Investment Strategies Team Program Overview:

SOVA's internship program offers an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the firm and the world’s financial markets. You don’t need a background in finance. It’s nice to have, but not necessary. If you’ve got the quantitative skills, we can teach you the financial aspects of the job. As a Junior Quantitative Analyst / Intern, you'll work alongside SOVA's senior quants, traders and portfolio managers on a variety of exciting and challenging projects. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to kick start a career in the financial technology space.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include quantitative research, exploring new trading strategies, and developing related software. Interns participate in the firm’s education program, getting a chance to learn about all aspects of trading and financial markets:

  • Developing tools and platform enhancements to bolster productivity and automation on trading desk;
  • Applying analytical and simulation techniques to analyze model performance;
  • Help in analyze data, running simulations, and pursuing wide-ranging research to improve performance;
  • Help in use of the quantitative methods to develop sophisticated investment models and shape our insights into how the markets behave.

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent academic background in a technical or quantitative disciplines, like statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science (all levels welcome, from bachelor’s to doctorate);
  • Strong programming skills (C#, C/C++ or Java) and experience working with data;
  • The ability to work and solve problems in a high-pressure environment as well as communicate complex ideas clearly;
  • Highly motivated and tenacious individual, with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team;
  • Good understanding in at least some of the following areas: derivatives pricing, structured products pricing, time-series analysis, statistical estimation, Monte Carlo methods, Bayesian techniques, numerical optimization and optimal control;
