Overview

The role of the Business Development Manager [Product Owner] is to grow Mastercard’s business in the innovative products areas. Primary responsibilities include developing & implementing of global and localized strategic digital products, aimed to increase Mastercard’s market share in the card payment market.The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Business Development, Product, Sales, Account Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance teams, and will directly manage the local vendor teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • To research the payment market, identify main players and market needs;
  • To identify new product opportunities and new segments to be addressed;
  • To develop product concept and go to market strategy;
  • To develop financial forecasts and business cases for identified opportunities;
  • To launch and scale Mastercard digital products, with iCoF (interoperable CredentialOnFile) as a primary product to focus;
  • To ensure full product development lifecycle (localized), including
    • Development/localization of the digital products to fit local (Russian) market needs and requirements, in cooperation and synergy with another Mastercard’s products;
    • Qualitative and quantitative market researches to validate trends and competitive opportunities;
    • Definition of business and functional specifications, SLAs and other requirements for development;
    • Interaction with technical developers to translate product requirements into technical specifications;
    • Vendor managements;
    • Project management;
    • Sales/implementation pipeline management;
    • Issues/operations/risks management;
    • Budget management;
    • Legal, sales, marketing and contract management;
    • Dashboards and reporting;
    • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to get feedback, accomplish product development directives and initiatives;
  • To develop relationships with key market players (banks, merchants, wallet providers, platform providers, mobile operators, etc);

 

Experiences

  • Fluent English;
  • Proven experience as a “product owner” and results achieved in the card and/or payment product and business development;
  • Perfect understanding of the payment market, market players and market needs;
  • High level of enthusiasm for new payment products and innovative solutions, ability to evangelize the new payments opportunities to colleagues/partners/customers;
  • Proven combination of “vision” and “execution” skills, ability to create the product strategy and execute it;
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to provide creative solutions that drive positive results to both the customer and Mastercard;
  • Account management relationship skills for non-banking customers including PSPs, mobile operators, and e-commerce retailers as well as third party platform providers and vendors;
  • Higher education;
  • Senior level presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate technology to business people and business to technology people;
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills;
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently;
  • Comfortable with uncertainty, changing and fast paced environment;
  • High energy, can-do attitude, strong desire to succeed;
  • Leadership skills—must be able to influence others without reporting relationships, lead cross functional teams without direct reporting or management responsibility;
