Product Controller

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: ownership of the P&L and balance sheet production process and integrity of the reported numbers for all major cash equity vanilla and derivative products, in particular: calculation of the daily and monthly P&L numbers for all traded products verification of reported P&L numbers, including detailed daily price testing reconciliation of reported B/S and P&L figures to general ledgers/IFRS reports calculation and reporting of adjustments and KRI s explanation of daily P&L through P&L commentaries for the business enabling informed decision taking work with other BSG departments to ensure the smooth roll out of new businesses across the globe serve as a point of contact for the business to discuss P&L and B/S results, valuation, reserving, price testing and other issues involvement in review and approval of new products/ structured transactions from the product control perspective involvement in IT projects with a view to streamlining existing processes and improving efficiencies across the group and other ad hoc responsibilities. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: ESSENTIAL Graduate from the top technical or finance universities Good academics is a must Strong mathematical background Strong analytical skills Basic equity or fixed income derivative and non-derivative product knowledge, Understanding of investment banking and trading business If not qualified, must be committed to studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACMA, ACA, ACCA) PREFERED ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified Understanding of the front-to-back P&L and balance sheet reporting process Understanding of IFRS desirable LIKELY / NECESSARY EXPERIENTIAL BACKGROUND: 3 years experience in either an investment banking or accountancy Fluent English is essential Excel spread sheet skills In exceptional circumstance we would consider talented individuals without prior professional experience, but with top educational background
