Legal Trainee (English, Russian)

Minimum qualifications:

• Current student of a legal degree from a Russian University and maintaining student status throughout the internship or member of a study program post-graduation that requires legal training.
• Experience in legal analysis and research.
• Ability to speak and write in English and Russian fluently and idiomatically.

Preferred qualifications:

• Work experience in a law firm or in a media/technology company.
• Experience in data protection, copyright, technology or media law.
• Experience building relationships and communicating with people at all levels.
• Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in technology and IT-relevant legal problems and recent developments.
• Ability to start in September/October for a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics, including intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising law, data protection, etc.
• Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services and resolve internal escalations.
• Assist the Legal team in the preparation and management of court actions and in subsequent analysis. Work on commercial deals helping to create a suitable contractual structure of complex business relationships.
• Assist in a variety of projects, such as marketing assessments and the review and drafting of agreements.
• Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
